Midland Borderfest 2017

We have received news from Midland Borderfest organiser, Anne Speake, that this year’s event has raised an absolutely fantastic £2,930. The online raffle raised an impressive £1,730, then on the day contributions from donations, stall holders and a memory wall where reminders of past friends both two and four-legged raised a further £1,200. After making donations of £400 each to the Breed Health Group and to the Animal Health Trust a balance of £2,130 has been donated to Border Terrier Welfare.

On behalf of us all in BTW I would like to thank all of you who were involved in the event, the organisation team, the day visitors, the campers and the stall holders and in particular those who donated to the raffle and who purchased tickets. Our sincere thanks to you all.

The support that you and all our supporters give the Charity enables us to help the many dogs that come in for rehoming. Many of you will have followed the story’s of Paddington, fifteen years old with a lot of health issues, Roxy almost totally blind at only five years old and needing very expensive eye surgery, Pickle another fifteen year old in desperate need of the dentist and Daisy who is also fifteen years old and requires dental treatment and possibly the removal of a growth in her groin. These are just a small selection of dogs who have needed help in the past few weeks and it is entirely due to our supporters that we do not have to say “no, we can’t afford to help”.

Thank you from Paddington, Roxy, Pickle, Daisy and all the other dogs you have helped and also from us all in BTW.
